Halo Infinite Update – Apr 2022

The Road Ahead

Hello Everyone,

With Season 2 locked and loaded for May 3rd, nosotros desire to share a roadmap of what we're planning to deliver during Season 2 and for the remainder of the year.

More than than anything else, we want this roadmap to exist authentic and reliable. Some items and dates are certain, and these are conspicuously listed. Others are marked as "targets" or "goals" and they will get more certain over time. The roadmap's timeframe will also expand as we announce longer-term initiatives. In other words, this roadmap is an evolving document, and we'll allow you know when we brand changes to it.

With all that in mind, here's the Halo Infinite roadmap for 2022:

Halo Infinite's 2022 roadmap as of April 22
  • Addressing bug negatively impacting player experience.
  • Completing Season 2 and delivering it as promised on May iii.
  • Continuing piece of work on Entrada Co-op, Forge, and Season three.

...with a "priority zero" of squad health and getting ourselves into a sustainable evolution rhythm so that we tin can deliver great experiences to all of y'all while maintaining a good for you work/life remainder.

We know we demand to evangelize more than content and more than features more quickly. Staying truthful to priority zero ways that sometimes nosotros demand to slow downwards in order to stay salubrious and movement faster later. But we're too aggressively looking at ways to accelerate.

For example, we want to go the Forge toolset into your hands sooner rather than afterwards and so that crawly customs maps and modes can more rapidly make their way into the game. To make this happen, nosotros're targeting a Forge open beta later in Season 2. Nosotros've successfully had Forge in private flighting with a express audience for some time, and then nosotros've decided to forgo a big-scale formal flighting program and become right to open beta. With this approach, we tin can get the core Forge tools out to everyone quicker while also remaining focused on our cadre priority of continuing to amend foundational aspects of Halo Space. Forge will persist from the open up beta onwards, evolving and growing over time.

As nosotros keep to meliorate and ramp up, please empathize that all of us at 343 are fully committed to making Halo Infinite the best Halo experience ever. Indeed, the master reason that we're extending Flavor two is to requite us time before shipping another Season to fully accost "quality of life" improvements based on learnings from Flavour 1 every bit well every bit other data and feedback we've nerveless.

Quality of life (QoL) is shorthand for problems-fixes, new features and/or content to address issues negatively impacting player feel. We'll be delivering QoL improvements as part of Season releases and as split up updates during Seasons.

Our histrion-facing term for QoL updates that land during Seasons is "Drib Pods." And much like their ODST namesakes, these release vehicles are meant to drop in hot, just as soon as they're ready. Our target is one Drop Pod every month, and y'all can expect Drib Pods to vary in scope and size. We'll have more than to share nigh what'south going into Season ii'south Drop Pods as soon every bit possible after Season two launch.

Speaking of which, Season ii launch is now less than two weeks away, on May 3! If you lot haven't already seen the previews for Flavour ii's new maps and new modes, please have a look. During these preview videos, you lot'll spy some of Flavor ii'due south new armor customization options. And here are a few extra combinations to whet your ambition:

Nosotros'll have a lot more to share about Season 2 including a deep dive into its Battle Pass rewards, events—including brand new "multiplayer narrative events" that identify your personal Spartan in the center of an evolving Seasonal storyline—game modes, and much more during a customs livestream scheduled for next Midweek, Apr 27, at 1:00 PM PST on Twitch.tv/Halo and YouTube.com/Halo. We'll also be discussing the roadmap in more particular during this livestream.

In summary: we are committed to delivering more content faster; we will advance while prioritizing team wellness; you can expect QoL improvements during Seasons via Drop Pods—and you can expect more than regular roadmap updates as our plans snap into sharper focus.

On behalf of the entire Halo Infinite team, cheers for your passion and patience equally we embark on the road ahead. We're fired upward to deliver what'due south already on the roadmap as well every bit to evangelize other content and experiences that we're not set up to reveal just yet… but that nosotros can't wait for yous to play.
